digital Research Technical Champions
For PhD students at one of our four partner universities (Imperial, UCL, King’s College London, University of Westminster). Promote best practices in your faculty, school, college or department for a year. Recruitment for 2026 is open! See the details of the 2026 champions scheme
STEP-UP mentoring scheme
For digital Research Technical Professionals working in research software, data, or computing infrastructure across London and the South East. Monthly mentoring conversations with a more senior dRTP for 6 months. Join the mentoring scheme
STEP-UP career and bridging placements
The scheme provides funds to support digital Research Technical Professionals (dRTPs) working in any discipline and on any aspect of research data, software, and computing infrastructure, to undertake a short-term (1-3 month) visit to a dRTP team at Imperial College London, King’s College London, UCL or the University of Westminster for development of technical and professional skills and capabilities, knowledge exchange and spread of good practice, or bridging time between funded project activities through an opportunity to develop technical expertise.
